Father's Day

Father's Day may have been celebrated as early as the fifth century. In the Christian Church, many Sundays celebrate fathers from Adam to Abraham. It was a mining accident in West Virginia, 1907,  where a group of men died that prompted Sonora Dodd, of Spokane, Washington to propose it a holiday. It became  law by Nixon in 1972 as an official holiday. A father represents someone who teaches his children not to be afraid. Did you know that "don't be afraid" is mentioned in the Bible 365 times? That means every day we should not be afraid. Many of us have wonderful relationships with our fathers, and there are those who do not. Some fathers are living and some have passed. There are many sons and daughters who don't know their fathers at all. There is one father we all have and he loves us, guides us, and we can wish him a wonderful day today. Happy Father's Day, God!
